When in archivelog mode, the database archives the contents of online redo logfiles when they become full and switch. The Oracle database archive redo logfiles play a crucial role in database recovery as they store the committed transactions needed to roll forward from a database snapshot taken in the past. To upgrade to the latest version, run az upgrade.
